The American Construction Inspectors Association proudly announces its 48th Annual Symposium will be held November 7- 8 at the Waterfront Hilton in Surf City USA aka Huntington Beach, CA. This beautiful resort which has recently undergone a $50M renovation is located across the street from one of the world’s most famous surfing beaches. This year’s training seminars are dedicated to address the concerns of Assembly Bills 2995 and 2966 which threatened the construction inspection industry earlier this year. Training seminars conducted by DSA and OSHPD will provide the education that the bill’s sponsors and legislators allege our industry to be weak in. Knowledge is power and the tools to confront future legislation will be gained by this year’s attendee’s. Don’t let the legislators come back next year and say we haven’t taken steps to improve our industry, sign up now! Another training seminar will be by the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. This course will provide the necessary training for volunteer Safety Assessment Evaluators in the event mutual aid is requested in the time of an emergency. The Public Works sector will benefit from an all day training seminar that will not only improve the skills of public works personnel but also will prepare attendees to take the RCI Division IV exam. Earlier this year CA OES added RCI Division IV to the list of pre-requisites for SAP Evaluator Certification. This is a unique opportunity for the public works community to attain this certification by attending both the public works seminar on Friday and the OES seminar on Saturday and have yourself added to your community’s SAP evaluator data base. The annual Trade & Services Expo will include returning exhibitors from last year’s event as well as a few new surprises that will be sure to be worth the time. The event finale is of course the annual officer’s installation and awards banquet. Last year over 100 attended and we hope to see that number surpassed this year. ACIA also realizes the current economic situation and has adjusted the cost to an affordable $350 for the two day event. Don’t delay, register early because this special offer ends October 31st. |
