Pursuant to a vote of the general membership, the following Amendments to the ByLaws have been passed and will be incorporated into the ByLaws effective February 1, 2009.

 

ARTICLE VI: SECTION 4.  Nomination of Officers 

FORMER LANGUAGE: 
   (d)  All nominees for each Officer or Director shall be a registered member, as defined in Article C, Section 2 hereof, having a valid registration with the association Board of Registered Construction Inspectors, and must be registered members in good standing for the full term of their office, if elected. 

AMENDED LANGUAGE: 
   (d)  All nominees for each Officer or Director shall have been a member of the A.C.I.A. for at least three (3) years prior to nomination, and shall continue to be a member in good standing for the full term of their office, whether elected or appointed.

ARTICLE X: SECTION 7.  Student Members 

FORMER LANGUAGE: 
(a)  Student Members shall be full-time students enrolled in a (sic) undergraduate or graduate program in a construction industry curriculum in an educational institution. 

AMENDED LANGUAGE: 
(a) Student members shall be either full or part time students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a construction industry curriculum in an educational institution carrying at least 3 units per semester or quarter.  A member may qualify as a student member for a maximum of 4 calendar years.

ARTICLE XII : SECTION 1.  Fiscal Year 

FORMER LANGUAGE: 
The fiscal year of the Association shall commence on the first day of January of each year, or as determined by the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of the Board. 

NEW LANGUAGE: 
The fiscal year of the Association shall commence on the first day of July of each year, or as determined by the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of the Board.

ARTICLE XII: SECTION 2. Dues 

FORMER LANGUAGE: 
(b)  Annual dues renewal notice for the Association and Chapters shall be mailed simultaneously by the Association to members at least forty-five (45) days in advance of each member’s anniversary date and are payable when rendered to the Association.  The Association shall then distribute to each Chapter their share of said annual dues, as is the prevailing policy of the Association at the time. 
(c)  Initial dues shall accompany the membership application. 

NEW LANGUAGE: 
(b)  Annual dues for the Association and Chapters shall be due and payable on or before July 1 of each calendar year regardless of the member’s anniversary date.  A renewal notice shall be mailed by the Association to members at least forty-five (45) days in  advance. The Association shall then distribute to each Chapter their share of said annual dues, as is the prevailing policy of the Association at the time. 
(c) Initial dues shall accompany the membership application.   All new members will be billed for renewal commencing July 1 of the calendar year after they initially joined the Association regardless of the date they joined.
